The Texas Rangers had four different minor league players named either player or pitcher of the week in their leagues for the week of June 19-25.

Pitcher Cole Winn was the Pitcher of the Week in the Pacific Coast League, infielder Thomas Saggese claimed Player of the Week in the Texas League, and first baseman Abimelec Ortiz (South Atlantic League) and outfielder Yeremi Cabrera (Dominican Summer League) also received player honors.

Winn, normally a starter, made two relief appearances last week, going three innings in each outing for the Triple-A Round Rock Express. He retired 18 of the 20 batters he faced, striking out three and walking none. For the season, he’s 2-5 with a 7.71 ERA.

Saggese, at Double-A Frisco, batted .591 (13-for-22) with a home run, triple, three doubles and seven RBI, extending his active 14-game hitting streak.

The 21-year-old has slashed .312/.372/.502/.874 with 10 homers and 53 RBI in 67 games this season, all with Frisco.

Ortiz batted .571 (12-for-21) with three home runs and eight RBI at High Class-A Hickory. In 18 games with Hickory in June, he’s batting .352 with five home runs and 16 RBI. He is also on a 10-game hitting streak.

Cabrera went 10-for-20 (.500) with six RBI in five games for the Rangers’ Blue team. Cabrera, 17, has slashed .404/.563/.787/1.350 (19-for-47) in 13 games.
