The Dallas Cowboys added a quarterback to the injury report Friday afternoon. The Cowboys are set to play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in a game that could decide the organization’s fate for the next few seasons.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones put head coach Mike McCarthy on the hot seat before the Packers game. The Cowboys could go after former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to replace McCarthy if Dallas doesn’t make a late postseason run.
No quarterback was on the Cowboys’ injury report Wednesday or Thursday. However, backup quarterback Cooper Rush was l isted as questionable to play the Packers on Sunday due to an illness. Rush did not participate in practice on Friday.
The Cowboys hope starting quarterback Dak Prescott will remain healthy throughout the Wild Card game. If Rush cannot play Sunday, the Cowboys will turn to former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Trey Lance as Prescott’s backup against the Packers.
