Less than an hour after the Dallas Cowboys' Twitter account officially announced that defensive end Randy Gregory had returned on a five-year, $70 million deal, the Denver Broncos responded.
The official #Cowboys twitter account tweeted this 15 minutes ago. The #Broncos have responded with their own tweet.

Free agency madness. pic.twitter.com/H6LorVamFh
According to multiple reports, Gregory's deal with Dallas fell apart and he is now headed to Denver, still on a five-year, $70 million deal. The flip was first reported by Vic Lombardi.
And so it’s the #Broncos — not the #Cowboys — that are in agreement with Randy Gregory. My understanding is Dallas insisted on contract language that Gregory did not like protecting themselves. So he heads to Denver.

Same deal for Randy Gregory with the #Broncos as he was to sign with the #Cowboys, source says. Five years, $70 million. https://t.co/GhyC2hAQBX

It appears Randy Gregory -- like Frank Gore, Anthony Barr and others before him -- is our first free agent to change his mind after an initial agreement in 2022.
The 29-year-old Gregory has spent his entire career with the Cowboys since being selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, but has been suspended a number of times for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The former Nebraska Cornhusker recorded a career-high 17 quarterback hits and 6.0 sacks in 2021 over 12 games.
Gregory underwent surgery on his left knee in January.
