Chicago Blackhawks prospect Alex Vlasic expects to return from a fractured fibula this weekend for the Rockford IceHogs against the Iowa Wild, reports Ben Pope of The Chicago Sun-Times.
Vlasic, a 2019 second-round pick, will return three weeks ahead of schedule from the six-week timeline the IceHogs announced on Dec. 16.
The Blackhawks defenseman has scored six points (one goal, five assists) in 21 AHL games in his rookie season. Vlasic had a goal and assist while averaging 14:19 of ice time in 15 NHL games in 2022 after his junior season at Boston University.
The IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, visit Iowa for a back-to-back Saturday and Sunday. Rockford (19-10-1-2) holds the second spot in the Central Division with 41 points.
